What mess?
What Blunder
you want to accuse, be specific so the truth can shut you up
What mess? What Blunder?
1. Bush abandoned the war on terror to pursue an invasion of a country that was not a threat and not involved in terrorism in the US
So the 1991 CEASE FIRE NEVER EXISTED? AND during 13 years dozens UN resolutions a majority vote by Congress never happened?
Bush totally singularly with NO authorization invaded with NO other countries involved PLANNED all by himself right???
2. Bush trumped up charges of a perceived WMD threat based on selected intelligence and withheld intelligence that downplayed the threat
So were these people BEFORE BUSH totally MISINFORMED???
BEFORE BUSH!!!!
"..deny Iraq the capacity to develop WMD".Bill Clinton,1998
"..most brutal dictators of Century", Biden,1998
"Iraq compliance with Resolution 687 becomes shell game"..Daschle 1998
"He will use those WMDs again,as he has ten times since 1983" ..Berger Clinton Ntl. Secur. Advr 1998
"posed by Iraq's refusal to end its WMD programs" Levin 1998
"Saddam has been engaged in development of WMDs which is a threat.."Pelosi 1998 WHERE'D SHE GET THIS INFORMATION BEFORE BUSH?
"Hussein has chosen to spend his money on building WMDS.."Albright 1999
"Without a question, we need to disarm Saddam. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime .... He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation ... And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction .... So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real ...."Kerry , Jan. 23. 2003.
3. Bush underestimated the size of the invasion force needed to control Iraq
NO BUSH respected the Majority of experts who said the military campaign was enough AND IT WAS!!! Over in 6 weeks!
BUT when like the Harvard study showed... idiots probably like you said these words that ENCOURAGED the extension over 6 years..
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid(D)
"The war is lost, the surge is not accomplishing anything "
U.S. Rep. John Murtha(D)
"Our troops killed innocent civilians in cold blood,”
Senator Kerry (D)
"American soldiers going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children."
Durbin (D)
"must have been done by Nazis, Soviets"--action of Americans in the treatment of their prisoners.
Senator Obama said "troops are air-raiding villages and killing civilians,"
4. Bush prematurely declared mission accomplished
NO he was 100% correct the MILITARY surrender of Saddam occurred!
5. Bush believed that Iraq would "Treat us as liberators"
I agree as did most other reasonable people and we were wrong!
6. Bush was unable to curtail the inevitable Civil War after Saddam was deposed
WHAT CIVIL WAR?????
7. Bush failed to build an effective international coalition
48 countries... here is the list:
“President Bush is assembling a Coalition that has already begun military operations to disarm Iraq of its weapons of mass destruction, and enforce 17 UNSC resolutions.”
and that already 48 countries, all of whom “understand the threat Saddam Hussein’s weapons pose to the world”, were “publicly committed to the Coalition”, including:
Afghanistan, Albania, Angola, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Colombia, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Eritrea, Estonia, Ethiopia, Georgia, Honduras, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Mongolia, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Palau, Panama, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Rwanda, Singapore, Slovakia, Solomon Islands, South Korea, Spain, Turkey, Uganda, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States, Uzbekistan
On 3 April 2003, the number of Coalition members rose to 49 with the addition of Tonga, and thatÂ’s where it stands at the time of writing.
The White House boasts that this Coalition is drawn from every corner of the world, with every major race, religion and ethnicity in the world represented in it, with a total population of around 1.23 billion and a combined GDP of approximately $22 trillion. (It doesnÂ’t mention that almost 50% of the latter is due to the US economy).
The next time you hear a Coalition spokesman from Qatar, remember s/he is speaking on behalf of all these 49 countries. The fact that spokesmen for the Coalition have always been either American or British up to now is sheer coincidence: Palau will get its turn shortly.
8. The decision to invade cost over 100,000 Iraqi lives and 5000+ American lives
