The American tragedies of Malmedy

You can't examine Malmedy without examining the most incredible intelligence failure in modern warfare, generally referred to as the "Battle of the Bulge". Ike was attending a series of Christmas parties given by Staff Officers and the Troops were relaxing while the rumors of "home for Christmas" ran unabated. George Patton's career was over for slapping an enlisted man but Ike lost almost 20,000 Troops due to negligence and incompetence during the Battle of the Bulge.. Ike should have been relieved of duty but true to form the U.S. media turned a military blunder around with the "Bloody Bastards of Bastogne" propaganda campaign and Ike was politically unscathed.
I don´t think Ike can be made responsible for the ongoings. The allies thought Eisenhower was about to be abducted and it was a double that was traveling around. Almost every US soldier was "arrested" to determine if he´s a German, even manifold, even Eisenhower. The allies were paralyzed. Of course, a plan to capture Ike never existed and there was no intention to make the allies believe it. The secrecy of the mission was very harsh, even the soldiers didn´t know and believed the Ike thingy.
The Germans gave wrong orders to the Americans, a total chaos broke out. The covert operations had much more success than hoped and if the German forces were not stuck in the streets and could have used the momentum, a total breakdown of the allies would have been inevitable and the western frontier would have been stabilized at least until April 45 according to Skorzeny. However, the Maas bridges that were up to be manned by the special forces were not occupied. The divisions got stuck in the streets due to the conditions and the lack of fuel and the mission became obsolete.
The Allies including Washington seemed to have been lulled into rumors of "home for Christmas" while the Germans were gearing up for an advance. Nobody worried about Ike's safety or the identity of American Troops until the Germans ran through the allied lines like they were invisible. Ike disciplined hard charger George Patton for slapping an enlisted man but Ike lost 20,000 Troops due to negligence and inattention to the realities of the final stages of the European conflict. Ike was in charge and he should have been relieved of duty but the U.S. was in a bind. FDR was virtually comotose and the Military leadership was incoherent under Marshall. The U.S. media stepped in and turned a monumental blunder around with propaganda that included stories about U.S. heroism and Nazi atrocities

The "stroll to Berlin" was a propaganda message, I guess. If the soldiers were told they will fight against the most advanced weaponry and the most determined soldiers, a landing would maybe not have been possible. Also, they were lucky that the Germans expected the landing to take place somewhere else and at least equally important: Rommel´s forces didn´t lift a finger. His fate is no secret, though. During their stroll and despite their massive superiority in equipment and manpower, their losses exceeded that of the Germans.

When they hear Malmedy, many Americans get mad over the Germans. This thread will put an end to this for the American readers. In short words, history "coverage" does not catch up with the findings of the victor´s justice. All defendants were released but media still teach the "Malmedy Massacre".

There was no such thing as a "Malmedy Massacre". During the Adrennes Offensive, German special forces led by war hero Skorzeny (Waffen-SS, acquittal in Nuremberg) caused trouble behind enemy lines. In US uniforms, they mucked around with the US forces. They had order to not to fight in false uniforms, which was prohibited. Among the Americans, panic broke out and they probably shoot each other. Propaganda used their tragedy to create a new fantastic story.

The bombings of Malmedy are rarely mentioned because of their ruthless character. Allied bombers reduced many places to ashes in France, Belgium and anywhere, where "liberation" took place. German forces indeed entered the town of Malmedy but quickly withdrew. When the US bombers targeted the town, the city was full of civilians and US soldiers. Thousands were killed in this tragedy.

While as only fact remains, that the dead of the civilians of Malmedy was accepted, we still hear about this alleged massacre that has never happened. It is time for fake historians and the media to refrain from their proven lies that still unnecessarily create gaps between the German and the American people.

What an odd bit of history to resurrect and lie about. Nobody is talking about Malmedy except for a Nazi fanboy like you.
You just need to demonize the enemy in order to justify the involvements. Hadn´t France and Britain not declared war on Germany, the whole thing would never have happened.

Germany and the United States are now allies. You decided it was necessary to bring up this episode in order to glorify the Nazi's and the SS.

And France and Britain declared war because Germany invaded Poland. Not invading Poland would have not only prevented the Malmedy massacre- but the death of millions of Poles.

Wonder why these neo-NAZIs are feeling it's the time to come out.....
Obama was the biggest Nazi leader of the present with the arming and training of Nazi forces in the Ukraine. Those are not to be compared with the mostly chivalric fighting German forces of the WWII.
Liar.

There is one thing to remember about this: While the Nazi's did specifically massacre American prisoners at Malmedy- they also shot dozens of Belgian citizens during the Battle of the Bulge.

And before it, and after it.

Stalin invaded too and became their allies. The German-Polish dispute was nothing for other countries to pry into. The oppressed German population in polish occupied territories was the trigger for the war when Poland rejected the 16 Points plan offered by Germany. When the war broke out the Poles started to slaughter the Germans, what fake historians fapping on the "Malmedy Massacre" love to ignore.

And? So Hitler and Stalin were both assholes who decided to invade Poland.

That doesn't change the ridiculousness of your claim that the massacre would not have happened if the UK and France had not declared war on Germany. You conveniently overlooked Germany's own actions.

Amazing............trying to lie about WWII as well............the OP has no shame.

France and the UK had treaties with Poland- when Germany decided to invade Poland.

Hitler's motivations were pretty clear- from his own words

With minor exceptions German national unification has been achieved. Further successes cannot be achieved without bloodshed. Poland will always be on the side of our adversaries... Danzig is not the objective. It is a matter of expanding our living space in the east, of making our food supply secure, and solving the problem of the Baltic states. To provide sufficient food you must have sparsely settled areas. There is therefore no question of sparing Poland, and the decision remains to attack Poland at the first opportunity. We cannot expect a repetition of Czechoslovakia. There will be fighting.[36]

The object of the war is … physically to destroy the enemy. That is why I have prepared, for the moment only in the East, my 'Death's Head' formations with orders to kill without pity or mercy all men, women, and children of Polish descent or language. Only in this way can we obtain the living space we need. [37]

How ridiculous is it to have someone complaining that German soldiers are unfairly accused of committing war crimes and atrocities during WWII like the doofus who started this thread is doing.

That´s not my claim as the massacre has never happened. You can read Skorzeny´s book, criminal actions by a part of the forces are not overlooked.

Sad but true: Some of you want to hate, want this massacre to be true. What has happened to you?
Your a LIAR..............No one listens to a LIAR...........

There were trials and investigations in WWII.........and the SS were charged tried and convicted..........

The SS conducted MASS MURDER all over Europe..........Including the extermination of Jews and those deemed inferior by the Nazi's scum bags...........

They tried to take over the world and got their asses kicked. Deserved it........as will those who are trying to kill all of those not believing in their religion from the Middle East...........

Again.......they deserved their fate for what they did............and your a LIAR.

Malmedy massacre trial - Wikipedia

Le Paradis massacre - Wikipedia

Soldiers of the 2nd Battalion, the Royal Norfolk Regiment, had become isolated from their regiment. They occupied and defended a farmhouse against an attack by Waffen-SS forces in the village of Le Paradis. After running out of ammunition, the defenders surrendered to the German troops. The Germans led them across the road to a wall and machine-gunned them. Ninety-seven British troops died. Two survived, with injuries, and hid until they were captured by German forces several days later.

After the war, Fritz Knöchlein was located, tried and convicted by a war crimes court, with the two survivors acting as witnesses against him. For his part in the massacre, Knöchlein was executed in 1949.
