The Accountant (2016) is one of my favorite action movies. It's just about perfect in every way. I hope the next one is as good.

I certainly wasn't expecting a sequel 9 years later.

I just hope it's not "autistic John Wick".

Anyway...

I saw The Accountant 2 last weekend. All the reporting said it was better than the original.

It isn't. It is horrible.

Like yeh said, sequels suck. I was saying the same thing to my wife on the way in, and reminded her as we left. But hope springs eternal and I was let down once again.

The only sequel which was as good as, or better than, the original was The Godfather 2.

The Accountant 2 was mostly ruined by the overacting of Jon Bernthal who plays the accountant's brother, Brax. He had a much larger part in this sequel than he had in the original.

Based on what I've seen of him in many roles, Bernthal has a very narrow acting range.

I wasn’t expecting much. It missed having Anna Kendrick. I thought the brother was the best part - at least he was funny, but yea his characters are all yelling about something. I thought Ben Affleck lost a step in that role. However it was a serviceable shoot-everyone-up movie.
