The $1.5 BILLION DOLLAR JUDGEMENT against Alex Jones MUST be greatly reduced on appeal to restore faith in the US Justice System.

Of all the way over-the-top illogical emotional jury awards, the Alex Jones $1.5 Billion dollar award is the most egregious and ridiculous. It is not the role of a US Court or jury to indulge their personal emotions and hatred. There is no reality in which the Sandy Hook victim's families deserve a monetary award anywhere near this and Alex Jones does not deserved to be bankrupted by a vengeful hateful court. Do they deserve SOME compensation for their suffering? Sure. Give them a million each and call it a day, but 1500 times that amount is pure insanity and erodes trust and faith in our US Justice System.

I'm a retired attorney, and I was appalled when I first learned how badly the American tort law system sucks, and my revulsion has only increased over the years (I graduated in 1982).

Damage awards have no rational connection to the actual damages suffered by the plaintiffs, and punitive damages are often (usually) outrageous.

Many of the highly publicized cases involve situations where the plaintiff suffered no damages at all, like the [vulgar word for vagina] who sued Trump for slander, or the Georgia Patriots who claim to have been defamed by Rudy Giugliani.

This is why I take no pride in identifying myself as an attorney (retired).
