THANKS BIDEN: Emboldened Chinese Military Will Build Base On Afghanistan Border

In the botched Afghanistan withdrawal, Americans and billions of dollars of military equipment was left behind, and Chinese Military Aircraft were reported to be landing at the Bagram Airbase: Daily Mail

China is now Africa’s biggest trade partner, with Sino-African trade topping $200 billion per year. According to McKinsey, over 10,000 Chinese-owned firms are currently operating throughout the African continent, and the value of Chinese business there since 2005 amounts to more than $2 trillion, with $300 billion in investment currently on the table. Africa has also eclipsed Asia as the largest market for China’s overseas construction contracts.

According to some reports, Chinese IP theft has cost the United States $225 billion to $600 billion a year.

The recent revelation that China has tested two hypersonic glide missiles has rocked the American national security establishment. According to Bloomberg, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley suggested that the tests approached a “Sputnik moment,” harkening back to the Soviet launch of the first Earth satellite, which also proved the capability of delivering a nuclear warhead anywhere on Earth with a ballistic missile.

Lawmakers in Tajikistan announced on Wednesday that China would build a new military base on the nation’s border with Afghanistan worth $10 million.

My comment: China will be IN Afghanistan and next to is, and who is most at risk? Can you read a map?

China built a railroad, power plants and mining operations in Afghanistan over a decade ago.. They share a border and heritage in the Hazara people.

You believe the world is all candy canes for self destructive globalist ways. Putin is even warning you. Only because he is white. Xi is not doing that. This nation will be regionalized and tribalized and is going that route. Many of you do not even believe what you force on others. But move to the areas you detest and then start the process over.
Poorly written algorithm it is!

It was a major blunder to be there past the first year.
I agree

My preferred timeline was six months

Send in the military, which we did, and kill every taliban and foreign fighter we can get in our gunsights

And then leave with a stern warning not not to piss us off again

But 19 years later, thanks to globalism, china has become a major threat and our bases in afghanisan would have been useful in a future war

But thats geo politics that very few politicians in washington understand

We don't want war with China.

The US was sitting pretty in afghanistan and it was a major blunder by trump and biden to pull out

You are correct. It was a marvelous anti-terrorism base. Do you know how many dead military we had in the previous year? 10.

TEN!!

There was no war there. Senile Biden gave away a jewel of a base that we paid for in blood for no good reason.

It was a major blunder to be there past the first year.

You're just a plain idiot.

While Bush was fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan China built Port Gwadar which basically opens up markets for Afghan natural resources.

The conservatives on this board are all beating the drums for war with China which is ridiculous, but it ignores the real danger of what China is doing in the world right now.

China is using its massive trade surplus with the rest of the world, to fund and finance infrastructure investment in Second and Third World countries in Africa, Mexico, Central and South America. They're building deep water ports all along the Pacific coast, and Africa for large container ships to increase trade with these nations.

In the same way that the USA used its trade surplus in the 1960's and 1970's to fund infrastructure and growth in Third World countries to building alliances and to encourage democracy in those countries, China is using its surplus to build alliances with the Third World AGAINST Western Democracy.

It's not a conventional war with China that I fear. It's the tilting of geo-politics to authoritarianism and against democracy that will destroy our way of life.

Trump made his deal with the Taliban in the Spring of 2020.. and reduced US forces from 13,000 to 2500 by Sept 2020.

Afghanistan isn’t strategic.

I take it you have never read a map from the CCP's point of view

Afghanistan does two things for China: It is another step towards the Gulf, and it is a pincer around India. In the long term China wants to dominate all of southern Asia.

China is not a one dimensional military threat like nazi germany was

It prefers to dominate economically and politically

And will use the military only when there is no other way

Such as in Tibet, Hong Kong or Taiwan

Free nations have to respond to all the ways china is seeking hegemony
