It's happening here in California, too. Here in Sacramento, my wife and I just saw something like a 20% sudden increase in our natural gas rate from PG&E.

A few days earlier, a friend of mine in Lompoc reported that her gas rate doubled, from one month to the next, from SoCalGas.
