I was alive and voted for Reagan and he was the man. He made us proud to me Americans. There was never any doubt the country he loved. Very unlike what we have in the WH today. Reagan wasn't perfect but he was a leader, he inspired people and what more could we want from a president?

Obviously you want to be derided and put down for being American.

It's easy to forget the cold war missiles that were aimed at us until Reagan Thatcher and the Pope showed them how superior freedom and capitalism were.

They did nothing, nada, zip, they sat on their hands and whined like children, never lifted on finger to help the controllers. THAT is one thing that may have been effective. I am thinking they knew the strike was illegal and therefore didn't have justification for supporting the illegal strikers.

However, the more sensible ship-launched SM-3 anti-ballistic-missile-missile does work. That has zilch to do with Reagan, being the SM-3 is an evolution of the old SM-2. And the program was fully embraced by the Obama administration.

"Star Wars" evolved into many other things that we should be grateful that we have. The program continued under various names under both Bush's, Clinton, and now Obama. We should be grateful that we've been able to work on it for so long.
