Actually. The answer is simple. The Democrats could resign. Then the State would have to hold a special election to fill the seats. The same Democrats run again and win. What is that? Three months? More?

You expect politicians to voluntarily give up power for three whole months and risk the voters deciding to give it to someone else?

That's not how it works. The GOP would be running unopposed unless they give up the seat or announce they will not seek re-election.

The Districts are heavily Democrat leaning. Gerrymandering has its advantages. And the districts would vote for their candidate. Anyone can run. With or without party support or affiliation.

Whoever won would be a Democrat.

The same threat was made against Republicans who fled Oregon a few years ago to block climate legislation. Nobody was arrested there. I doubt anyone will be arrested in Texas.

if arrested they wont be taken to jail . they will be held at the Capital Building of Texas until they vote . Abbott isnt playing around .

What about the Democratic Instutution of the State of Texas Legislature and the rights of the people who voted for them to represent them. If YOU believe in the Mob rule of Democracy, then far more people in Texas want this law than don't. By walking out to prevent what the people want, they are fomenting insurrection against an established government.

We have hundreds of anti-fraud laws with no 'visible' proof of fraud ever having been committed. A law is a means by which you take a proactive stance against possible wrongdoing.

The question is if there is no fraud, and this bill does NOT prevent any citizen who has the legal right to vote from voting, why are you whining like a little bitch?
