California has a 60/40 Dem/Rep vote breakdown and an 80/20 Dem/Rep House member breakdown.

Texas is just doing what California's supposedly "non-partisan" commission already did.

SCOTUS will soon rule on whether states can redraw districts in reasonable ways that don't ensure this or that demographic will be elected. This is as it should be. Government and all of our society should be colorblind. Those who merit office should be able to run for office and win regardless of their skin color, eye color, hair color, ethnicity, etc.
