Sometimes it feels like testing time never ends. We are now in the thick of it.

Paul Goodman (1911–1972) was a radical critic who
viewed school testing and grading as oppressive, "miseducational" tools that stifled creativity and prioritized social conformity over genuine learning. He advocated for abolishing formal grades, arguing they created an unhealthy "rat-race" and proposed that assessment should be purely pedagogical, designed to help students learn rather than rank them.
