That's a screwed up translation in all probability from NIV 2011. NIV 2011 from what I have read has changed 40% of the verses and is apparently a far cry from the 1984 version.

These verses are not the Bible telling how to give an abortion. That's beyond whacked out.



These passages only deal with how a husband could tell if his wife has been unfaithful or if he has been unduly jealous.

You will note that the word miscarry is not in play here at all. I don't know what they were smoking when they translated this chapter at NIV but in the original King James translation there isn't a pregnancy involved whatsoever. And the bitter water only carries the curse.

It was about Terri, not her parents. It was not right to keep her alive in that condition just because her parents weren't prepared to let her go.

So? What is wrong with letting them take her home and care for her until she died? She did not have a living will that specified her own wishes. Although she was said to be "brain dead," others reported her as being somewhat cognizant at times.

The reports of her being cognizant were from doctors willing to lie for the Schindler's. The state's selected physician declared her in a PVS. Although this translated passage that this poster is using to justify abortion is in the NIV 2011 it was not translated like this in the 1984 NIV translation published by Zondervan.

This 2011 version is out to lunch, highly controversial and has been broadly condemned.

There are many faults. 40% of the verses have been altered from what I've been able to discern.

None of these other translations mentions says the woman will miscarry. Basically this abomination justifies abortion.

Although this translated passage that this poster is using to justify abortion is in the NIV 2011 it was not translated like this in the 1984 NIV translation published by Zondervan.

This 2011 version is out to lunch, highly controversial and has been broadly condemned.

None of these translations even remotely resemble the 2011 NIV.

None of these other translations mentions says the woman will miscarry. Basically this abomination justifies abortion.

It's really whacked out. AKA an abomination before Jehovah.

It doesn't even matter because these people are looking for anything to promote their beliefs. They don't read the Bible, they eclectically seek out passages to use against those who do. The Bible is a unique book in all of human history in that you must know the Author to understand it. These people reject the Author and like a clever lawyer try to use the Author's words against him.

I do blame Sola Scriptura though. Even unbelievers have gotten the notion that many Christians ascribe ultimate authority to the Bible, so they twist the Bible to their own end. And they succeed largely because if our authority is in a book, the one's interpretation isn't better than another's for there is no ultimate arbiter of correct doctrine. Jesus didn't invest his authority in a book, he invested it in a living, breathing Church, even with flawed people. He gave his Church the authority to teach the nations, to baptize, to forgive, to bind, to loose.

And what the Church did with that authority is nothing less than a full repudiation of Sola Scriptura. They abolished circumcision. They changed the Sabbath to Sunday instead of Saturday. All this violated the scriptures, but the Church was acting on the authority of Christ, not of scripture. And in the 4th century, they did something that left no doubt as to who truly had the authority; they formed councils and decided what the canon of Scripture is. They made the Bible. The only authority that can create the Bible is an authority greater than the Bible itself.

So I don't reject abortion because of a confluence of various scriptures and how I interpret them, I reject abortion because God's Holy Church, in whom the authority of Christ rests, says it's wrong. That's a stronger stance than using the Bible alone.

That's a screwed up translation in all probability from NIV 2011. NIV 2011 from what I have read has changed 40% of the verses and is apparently a far cry from the 1984 version.

These verses are not the Bible telling how to give an abortion. That's beyond whacked out.



These passages only deal with how a husband could tell if his wife has been unfaithful or if he has been unduly jealous.

You will note that the word miscarry is not in play here at all. I don't know what they were smoking when they translated this chapter at NIV but in the original King James translation there isn't a pregnancy involved whatsoever. And the bitter water only carries the curse.

Although this translated passage that this poster is using to justify abortion is in the NIV 2011 it was not translated like this in the 1984 NIV translation published by Zondervan.

This 2011 version is out to lunch, highly controversial and has been broadly condemned.

There are many faults. 40% of the verses have been altered from what I've been able to discern.

I have in my home library King James bible, NIV 1978, NIV 1984 the RSV (Revised Standard Version)and a copy of the Jehovah Witness's bible that a friend gave me and that's the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures.

All well read many times over.

None of these translations even remotely resemble the 2011 NIV.

None of these other translations mentions says the woman will miscarry. Basically this abomination justifies abortion.

It's really whacked out. AKA an abomination before Jehovah.

Seems people can pick and choose what their higher power said or did in the bible. No matter what version, they all tell how to perform an abortion. Notice that the woman has no choice. It's forced on her. There is no such word as miscarry in the king james version. Although a miscarriage is just a spontaneous abortion. An induced abortion is what the bible is telling people what to do. It's not spontaneous and what is called a miscarriage now. It's a forced abortion.
