Many of the people who yell the loudest for TERM LIMITS can’t name either person who represents their state in the U.S. senate. And therein lies the irony of ignorance. Candidates pay consultants to learn what their constituents-to-be, know. Jack Germond, the late Washington post columnist, wrote, “Unsurprisingly, the poll-takers don’t talk a lot in public about the ignorance of the electorate on political and public policy matters.” If you want better government, then hold up your end of the democracy bargain and get informed. Better informed citizens get better candidates! See Macadoodle’s discussion on, Term Limits – A Bad Idea Whose Time Will Never Come

Ron Johnson, and that other person who's a lesbian. Her name shall never be uttered in my household.

Johnson deserves a lifetime in the Senate, the other one can choke on a pubic hair for all I care.

I voted for Johnson....but Never again. He sold his stocks before things crashed along with some others. But they Surely didn't have insider info...sarcasm. I don't trust him and he has lost my support. He does care about $$$$ though.

“Politicians and diapers must be changed often, and for the same reason.”

― Mark Twain (Author)

Congress imposed term limits on the President in 1951, citing the corruption that resulted from FDR holding power for 4 unpresendented terms as being the reason.

Funny how that is also not a good enough reason for those in Congress who never seem to leave.

We need a Congress that are not career politicians. We need men and women who will try and create a society that they will soon have to reenter like everyone else. Only then will they stop doing things like voting for special health care for themselves than for the rest of society.

Career politicians who retire with lavish retirement programs should be a thing of the past.

Yes!

If 401Ks are good enough for the people, they're good enough for the politicians.

Term limits will never come because the people who are responsible for getting those limits passed into law are the very people those limits will detrimentally effect.

It's like letting criminals decide how long they will be locked up.

Which is why the only way to get it done is the Article V movement.

States need to rise up and amend the Constitution to begin to return power back to the state level.

So far there have been around 13 states that voted to do just that. They need 2/3 of the states to vote that way and it will get done.

:laughing0301:If term limits became law, there will the replacements for termed out politicians come from? Answer; Dem and Rep parties which will make them more powerful. Serve a term as a precinct committee person to get an idea of the quality of the replacement stock.
