The religious right denies contraception or sex education to their teens, thinking their good girls and boys won't have sex. Oh, please.Teen birth rates highest in most religious states
MSNBC - 9-17-09Link may be due to communities frowning on contraception, researchers sayU.S. states whose residents have more conservative religious beliefs on average tend to have higher rates of teenagers giving birth, a new study suggests.
"Southern Attitude" huh?:Even accounting for abortions? What do you think the STD rate is in comparison? So not only are they unwed and pregnant, but diseased. Wow, how, uh, Christian.
Well, we know the southern attitude. They got pregnant, they must suffer the consequences. No help. No insurance. They are parasites on society. Unless the grandma is Sarah Palin. Then it's ok.
AIDS & HIV statistics for the USA by state and city
Area of residence AIDS cases per 100,000 population in 2007
Alabama 8.4
District of Columbia 148.1
New York 24.9
Last time I checked, D.C. wasn't in the south.
Oh, this is rich.
You're looking at just one disease. Look at all of them:
Rank
......Primary and secondary syphilis ...........Chlamydia .....................Gonnorhea
1 .......................Louisiana (12.4) ...........Mississippi (745.1) ........Mississippi (285.7)
2...................... Alabama (8.3) ...............Alaska (732.9) ..............Louisiana (259.7)
3 .......................Georgia (7.3) ...........South Carolina (611.7) ......South Carolina (239.0)
STD statistics for the USA
What's especially hilarious is that Alaska is right in the middle. That's right, except for HIV, southern states lead in EVERY STD.
Jesus, protect this country from your followers.

Jesus, protect us from welfare and government medical. Because apparently, they lead to STDs and teen pregnancy.
Wrong again. The government wants to teach comprehensive sex education, but the religious fight it. They say if you teach kids pregnancy and disease prevention, they will run out and do it. Apparently, they jus run out and do it anyway. The religious want their kids sick, pregnant and ignorant. If it worked for them, it can work for their children. So sad.
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is defending the fact that hundreds of millions of dollars of the forthcoming stimulus package are to be spent on family planning. Her argument is very simple. The economy is bad. Having babies costs money. Would-be parents need to save their money by not having babies.

Oh, and the Mid-Atlantic states certainly do NOT think of their area as part of the NORTHEAST! Historically, the dividing line is Mason-Dixon East of the Ohio River, The Ohio River west to the Mississippi, and so on and one would have to ask what Missourians and East Texans consider themselves now...

And those who cannot afford to support them not having babies DOES NOT WORK FOR YOU WHY?????????????????????

This Missourian will tell you the Missouri and east Texas are certainly part of the South.
As chance would have it, I was born and raised just outside of D.C. and can assure you Northern Virginia, Eastern Maryland (east of Frederick), and D.C. are definitely Northern.
