They get sick, they get medical attention, and we pay for it as taxpayers. I don't mind them being able to "pay" for health care any more than I mind them contributing to our economy by buying tacos at the corner stand. His plan is simply "more practical", and less costly. That said, I'm NOT condoning them being here illegally, but that's a different issue.

In a sense, what you're saying is, it's better to punish us (the legal taxpayer), than to at least make the guilty pay their own way!

The Dems simply have no wish to spend money checking them again...and they also don't want to make it harder for legal Americans. Have you looked at the unemployment rate? I seriously doubt employers will have any trouble finding help. But if that's still a problem, there's always the work visa route which the INS limits to an impossibly low number every year.

I agree with that. If they can fix the system, that should work. Why is it that throughout the history of this country we never had a problem with immigration (I'm speaking of those that pursued the proper route because it was the "right" thing to do) until the past 30 years. Could it be because the Mexican people have been so indoctrinated to corruption that they see it as the normal way of doing things? Just a thought...
