The border patrol agent was shot during a traffic stop by a German national who was on a legal visa and was looking to buy property in the area. His companion is an American Citizen. It's not clear from the reports who shot who or what it was about, but it certainly wasn't a border crossing incident.

Every Republican in the White House in my lifetime has brought us at least one recession.

the middle class has been in decline since Ronald Reagan, perhaps since Tricky Dick, and mostly because of the policies of Republicans.

On the other hand, I did very well under Clinton, even though I despised the man.
I did very well under Obama. (In fact, I wasn't unemployed one day when Obama was president.)
I did very well under Biden.

I can see the logic of owner-occupancy rules in HSA and Condos.

The place I lived in from 2004 to 2021 didn't have an owner occupancy rule. When Bush crashed the economy (because that's what Republicans do) a lot of these units were snatched up for a song. While some of the new owners were very responsible and only rented to solid rentors, some of them took section 8 vouchers and rented to families who put 8 people in a two bedroom apartment.

Eventually, a developer moved in and offered us all a buyout. The people who opposed it in court for nearly two years were the people who snatched up those rentals and were making a killing.

When I looked for my new place, the first thing I asked for was Owner-occupancy rules.

Renters simply don't care about their properties. This is a fact. They are just paying to use them.
