Teachers Melting Down Over "ICE Raids" in Schools

Lots of chatter about "ICE raids" in schools. Apparently people think ICE will cuff a 6 yo and drag them away; that won't happen, and if it does, I'm opposed. ICE might wait at the school or bus stop for the parents, though.

Meanwhile, school officials think schools are islands of lawlessness where they have the right to stop the govt from doing its job.

While I have compassion for individual children of illegals, common sense dictates that these students often take MORE resources than American children. Their parents committed a crime coming here illegally. If a student is deported with their parents, that will be individually unfortunate but, in the end, just.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Officers enforcing immigration laws will now be able to arrest migrants at sensitive locations like schools and churches after the Trump administration threw out policies limiting where those arrests could happen as the new president seeks to make good on campaign promises to carry out mass deportations.

The move announced Tuesday reverses guidance that for over a decade has restricted two key federal immigration agencies — Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection — from carrying out immigration enforcement in sensitive locations.

And it’s not just that they take more resources. In the areas where the illegal families settle, the caliber of the schools and consequently the property values drop.

These are usually working class areas with modest ranch houses, and the parents (the American citizens) are high school grads with working class jobs, and for whom the equity in their home represents most if not all of their retirement funds. Because libs incentivize illegals to invade, our working class is suffering.

And think of how the children are harmed. These working class families, especially those with above-average kids, hope for them to go to college and do better. But now, as the illegals bring down the caliber of the school, the LEGAL kids are not able to compete with the kids in the upper-middle class schools in terms of college acceptance.

I've been calling her that for years.

It goes back to when we had a discussion about Female Genital Mutilation. I provided her with scholarly articles showing that it wasn't a religious practice, and in fact predates both Christianity and Islam.
