Then the neighbor on my other side decided to move and rent out his house. I can see the logic of owner-occupancy rules in HSA and Condos.

The place I lived in from 2004 to 2021 didn't have an owner occupancy rule. When Bush crashed the economy (because that's what Republicans do) a lot of these units were snatched up for a song. While some of the new owners were very responsible and only rented to solid rentors, some of them took section 8 vouchers and rented to families who put 8 people in a two bedroom apartment.

Eventually, a developer moved in and offered us all a buyout. The people who opposed it in court for nearly two years were the people who snatched up those rentals and were making a killing.

When I looked for my new place, the first thing I asked for was Owner-occupancy rules.

Renters simply don't care about their properties. This is a fact. They are just paying to use them.

Most of the undocumented immigrants who come here DO present themselves at a legal port of entry. They are entitled to a court hearing to see if they can stay.

The problem is, our system is so fouled up that even if they have a good case, it takes years to work their way through the courts.
