Teachers Freaking Out Over Trump

You get schooled and go off on another tangent ya attention seeking jackass. Sit down
You claim you’re against religious indoctrination in schools yet you support Republicans who push religious indoctrination in schools.

Thanks for confirming. Now go sit in the corner.

They're the idiots buying tRump bibles for their classrooms.

What's wrong with Trump handing out Bibles to everyone?

To put a finer point on this:

If we could make this deal: "Okay, we as a society will discipline our kids again and hold them to standards, if you will stop 'indoctrinating' them."

Yeah but for once this topic isn't about indoctrination or punishment of the students, these teachers were WAY out of line as pushing politics into the classroom shouldn't be allowed unless it's teaching social studies and history and stuff. Not one's own politics though. Surely you can agree with me on that part at least. As hopefully that doesn't happen at the school where you teach.

Trump is no role model for children.

Did I say that he was?

Our children don't attend public school and no I'm not in favor of anything "religious" being displayed in public schools. I've said all along it's likely unconstitutional

Actually I recently found out that the separation of church and state is nowhere in the US Constitution.

Then you should be all for removing the Dept. of Education. They are solely responsible for moving further and further away from the classical model.

It is. 1st Amendment, Establishment clause.

It is. 1st Amendment, Establishment clause.

Wrong! That's saying that the government can't make a religion for all of us to follow. There's nothing about not allowing religion in public schools.

That's what it means. No religion in public schools.

Nope! This doesn't say anything about it:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

It has been explained numerous times. You are too thick to get it.

.

The First Amendment forbids the Establishment of a Federal Religion ...
And forbids Federal Restrictions against the free practice of a Religion.

The Constitution states nothing about the Separation of Church and State.
That comes from Thomas Jefferson in the Federalist Papers.

Going back to the old saying ...
"The Constitution doesn't need to be reinterpreted ... It needs to be reread" ...

.

Oh, ill.have to look for that. In what way? Like are they trying to force conservatism? What method are they using?
Religion.

How have you missed this? They mandated bibles as "educational materials" and set standards that exactly matched only tRump's version.

It's been all over the news.

The right has tried making teachers push the rights agenda.

Freedom, equality, security, safety, equal treatment under the law, school choice and prosperity, all foreign concepts to you commies and how dare the conservatives in this country push such things.

Not to worry. Trump is going to abolish the dept. of education and give the school responsibilities back to the states.

It will no longer be a federal matter

We can only hope, but that would take congressional action. Reagan hired Bill Bennett to shutter the dept of ed and congress blocked them. The only other option is a State/s suing and the DOJ settling the suit or a SCOTUS ruling in favor of the State/s.

That exposes your ignorance about home schooling. You are obviously unaware that parents no longer have to be highly educated in the subjects their kids are studying. Have you never heard of online curricula? Even government schools have them, so there are no obstacles for a relatively uneducated parent to get their child a good education at home. In fact, they can get a better one faster because they don't have to deal with the small percentage of disruptive students that cause problems for all the others, and if they're hyperactive or just plain love to play outside, the parents can customize the school day to accommodate their needs much better than a teacher who has to deal with 30 students at one time and is bound by rules that they all have to sit down and shut up for an hour at a time. Educate yourself, you sound ignorant.
While true, the one thing you cant really teach them, IMHO the most important thing, is how to deal with their peers without you and how to deal with people in power that are not family.

Knowledge is good and useful but it is your social skills that takes you far in life and that is a skill I don't think can be taught and rather needs to be directly experienced. It is what stopped me from homeschooling my children. The information that I need to correct or tech that the school misses I can do. The social aspects I cannot.

Uh huh. And is it Republicans or Democrats pushing to put the 10 Commandments and prayer into schools?
And how often is that sucsessful?

My son came home with a reading list that included books calling white people satanic. He has never once come home with Christian doctrine in his reading list.

One of these things is laughed at everywhere but deep deep deep red areas where 10 people live. One of these things is pushed in virtually every major city in the nation.

They are not equivalent.
