I'm Thinking that Trump, with his Cold Hearted, Immoral,Godless, "All about Me" Mindset, just lost some Conservative Voters that are capable of "Critical Thinking".

As a teen, I think All In The Family was my favorite show. It was the #1 show for five years. The first 3-4 seasons were lights out hilarious. While I hated Reiner's politics, I'm really saddened to see a guy like him who championed peace, love and togetherness all his life die in an act of utter senseless violence. By probably the last person he expected it from.

After spending untold millions on a deluxe home surrounded by fences, gates and guards, he ends up dying right in his own home.

Reiner directed several good movies, but seeing them, I doubt I was ever much aware of his directing them. IMO, between the producer, writers, director and actors, I feel the director is the least important. But nice that he directed these films anyway. After all, being a producer or a movie star big name actor on the silver screen is a LOT harder, and good writers are far and few between, but Reiner clearly had a sense of what he was trying to achieve and knew how to bring it out of actors on the screen.

To my mind, a director is someone who sat around for a lot of years watching lots of films deciding what was right and wrong or what he liked and didn't like about them, then sets forth to create films which correct those deficiencies.

I've studied the Carradine family and a few others in Hollywood like the Barrymore family, and there is a running theme in most of these families of alcoholism, crime, drugs, often perversion, and mental illness. I think the problem with people in Hollywood is that they are all a little crazy and disturbed so they have no one to contrast against to know just how off the wall they really are.

Even people like Dick Van Dyke battled depression and alcoholism for years. People who get into making movies and acting are searching for escape, attention, fame and money of course, and especially, lots of praise. It often signals some unmet deficiency in their ego structure.

If there is any uptick to any of this it is that at least Reiner lived to be 78, and that's not bad.
