Anyone who spews the kind of violent hatred and warmongering that Reiner did for so many years, inevitably draws negative attention to themselves.

I was watching ABC news yesterday and couldn't help but notice they made a point of Trump making negative comments about Rob Reiner after the guy was brutally murdered and yet they themselves didn't seem to mind taking away from the brutal murders in order to take jabs at Trump. They couldn't just report on the incident itself out of respect to Rob Reiner without bringing Trump into it.

Hypocrisy is the point. They blamed Trump for disrespecting the brutal murders of the Reiners while they had no qualms about disrespecting the brutal murders of the Reiners by using them to take jabs at Trump. They could have just reported on the murders and left Trump out of it. They could have chosen themselves to respect the Reiners without dragging politics into it and they couldn't do it.
