On the contrary - the filibuster (or rather it's net effect of requiring a 60% majority for most bills) should be encoded into the Constitution. This cycle of passing major legislation with a slim majority, and then undermining it four years later when the majority tilts, is pointless thrashing. We need real consensus for all federal legislation. And if we don't have it, we shouldn't pass said legislation.

This sounds good in theory, but in reality you have unpopulated states with two senators while California also has two senators. Fix that and then you can go with the 60% majority.

As a conservative, I happen to believe that the Executive Branch isn’t the branch which should be imposing tariffs (except when Congress has authorized the President to do so under specific conditions).

The SCOTUS ruling on tariffs therefore doesn’t shock me. But I agree that this is just a temporary road block to the President’s larger plans.

I see nobody in modern American history as determined as President Trump has been to undo the damage of leftist ideology. I pull for him every day.

If roughly half of the Congress (the Dems) never gives an actual **** about the Constitution and our society, having a President like Trump is a godsend.
