The Supreme Court has ruled that partisan based gerrymandering is fully legal, as long as it isn't race based. Race based gerrymandering is still illegal, but now Republicans will simply claim that it's partisan based instead.

If this strategy succeeds, your Constitution is over and done with. You're hanging by a thread now.

The last ruling said drawing districts based upon race was violation of the Voting Rights Act. Looks right to me. The dispute between the racist MAGA morons vs the Rainbows and Unicorns Party is how politicians are applying it in their states.
