What amazes me is how many people support every activity that keeps them where they are.
But they've been conditioned to do that since the day Limbaugh went national.
And Communism/Socialism has a great track record of upward mobility?
The well off in Socialist/Communist countries are actually a much smaller part of the population.
Survivors of the gulags and their Eastern Europe equivalents should be part of tours of college campuses, or just the people who had to wait on lines for food, or years for apartments.
The real issue is the skew of economic education towards Marxism.
Damn, that is a DUMB slogan."Socialism is for the people, not the socialist" - Andrew Wilkow
Freedom (and Capitalism) is messy, chaotic, dangerous and requires adult maturity to maintain. It's also preferable to the alternative.Capitalism isn’t a very easy concept to like/support. It isn’t very warm or cuddly.
But, similar to Churchill’s quote about democracy, it’s the worst form of economy except for all those other forms that have been tried
Damn, that is a DUMB slogan.
And, paid for by whom?
Ridiculous.

So it was sarcasm? Its a great slogan. The point being, the socialist leaders would want the rest of us to eat scraps and live in shacks while they eat steak and live in mansions.

So it was sarcasm?
Socialism is for LOSERS.
"Socialism is for the people, not the socialist" - Andrew Wilkow
Socialism is for the Party, not the people.
No. God damn.
Two entirely different things and two entirely different times. At THE END, when THEY ALL KNEW it was all coming undone, they were cutting their losses by unloading their SHIT on anyone who'd still fall for it. Their losses at that point were massive due to their 30x and 40x leverage. And Paulson made all the big banks take TARP, regardless of their exposure, so that some were not singled out and killed by the market.
You are a Trumpster. Your worldview is warped and perverted, especially on economics. I don't discuss this shit with you people any more, and I know I just wasted my time. You are Dunning-Kruger. I'm out of patience. Play with someone else. Dismissed.
That the support is waining is not surprising as there are far fewer “haves” than “have-nots”. Few people blame themselves and blame others. When you can no longer identify “the other” by name, you move on to concepts and myths (deep state, the swamp, “the left”, “the right”...) and ideologies. Financial systems can’t be far behind once you start down that track.
More correctly though, it has been made very clear--especially in the US--that capitalism is not congruent with what were bedrock community institutions such as newspapers and professional healthcare. When you try to run systems that are in place for the public good as businesses where profit is the only thing that matters...you’re sure to create some form of mis-trust.
I doubt that mis-trust has bubbled up into the poll but it’s likely in the background since most people have either a family member who (or know of someone whom) healthcare has failed on some level. As for newspapers, since many rely on the concierge media and fewer (especially on the right) can stomach having their bubble pierced...those who tell the stories straight suffer.
Freedom (and Capitalism) is messy, chaotic, dangerous and requires adult maturity to maintain. It's also preferable to the alternative.
I do find it of interest that Socialist always want to take over the US as it is right now, AFTER Capitalism has built a strong economy. They apparently believe human nature has been cancelled and people will continue to produce at high levels when we remove the profit motive from them.
Again, its meant to convey that socialism is for everyone else except the people who are implementing it.
I couldn't tell you. Actual wealth taxes are problematic. They should have increased top end personal income taxes, but they were weak and shitty at explaining them. And yet, the times when democrats had the ability to impose wealth taxes, they balked. Wht is that?

Very possible. Such is our screwed up political "system". Money warps priorities.I think its because they dont really want to. Sure, it sounds good to the people, and helps them get votes, but at the end of they day, they love those donors and would never do anything to anger them.
Few around here do. How long have conservatives--one who is running for Congress right now who used to play base ball named Mark Texeria (sp?)--been talking about the left believing men can get pregnant? I don’t know of anyone who ever said that. And if you can find someone who did say that....does that person speak for 40-45% of the nation? Can't name them by name?
I'm always amused at how often that's a position of retired military, who can't realise they spent a lifetime in a socialist system. You want socialism?
You want communism?
SWIM TO CUBA!!!
GTFOH
