Prove my thread is wrong as I've provided proof I'm right!!!

I have no problem with Capitalism as long as there is a government to keep them in check
And that is the conundrum. Our build up as a great nation in industrialization was capitalism with the government very limited in keeping it in check. It was cutthroat as corporatism grew. The same men created products we eat with that thinking. We take it for granted today. It was not so much a century ago and more. As examples, cookies and pastries packaged for sale in stores for consumers is a result of it. It gave the common citizen access to the same things the wealthy have had at an economical price. Technologies expanded from these men. The main thing government did in a lower tax environment is give these men contracts for those same products in the military when we were at war. Especially WW 1 and in between through WW 2.

Much of that was built by obscene Capitalism
Rockefeller, Carnegie, Morgan, Vanderbilt all built empires of monopoly where the small capitalist was squeezed out.

An example of where government had to step in

Capitalism is the most effective economy but a strong government is needed to maintain a balanced playfield
Without government oversight Capitalism becomes consumptive of other businesses and the workforce
It seems that today, the government is in business to create winners and losers.
