If God wanted us to have sex only for procreation, he would have made it so that males are only aroused when a female is fertile. All other times, males would have no interest in sex. He does that with other animals who only have sex when the female is in heat.
But God made it so that human males want to have sex anytime any place

Which gets us to homosexuals. God does not make mistakes. Yet homosexuals are born with an attraction to the same sex and have no interest in the opposite sex.

What makes you think that people are born homosexual? Based upon the fact that homosexuality isn't spread equally across the globe and is concentrated in a limited number of location- its more likely either learned or cause by other environmental factors.

The only way we can judge Gods actual intent is from what he actually did.
What God did was make humans with the ability to have sex regardless of whether a female is fertile.

The restraints on sex through restraint, self control and choice are man made restraints based on the society you live in. You have no evidence to prescribe them to God

What is the purpose of sex?

If God did not want you to have sex He would not have made it such a pleasure for both men and women.
A scriptural difinition? Sex is for reproduction (Gen. 1:38) and "pleasure" (1 Cor. 7:1-5).......the release of sexual tension that is common to all mankind, and for the purpose of bonding a male and a female in marriage.......sex consummates a marriage were 2 people become 1 flesh. (Gen. 2:24)

The proper place for sex and the release of sexual tension is within a marriage. "Marriage is to be held in honor among all; and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators (anyone that engages in any type of sex with another person outside the bonds of marraige) and adulterers God will judge." -- Heb.13:4

The proper way to have sex is demonstrated by those who show respect and love for each other. "Nevertheless, each individual among you is to love his own wife even as himself; and the wife must see that she respects her husband." -- Eph. 5:33

What is a marriage authorized by God? "Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, 'Therefore should a man leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'? So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate." -- Matt. 19:4-7

Then they attempted to trick and confuse Jesus, asking Him about divorce......as was the custom/tradition in the O.T. Jesus informed them that it was Moses who allowed that which was not authorized due to the hardness of the hearts of those who were constantly breaking the laws of God. (Matt. 19:7-9)

A great many people assume that because something is recorded in the Bible.....God authorizes or condones it. Such is not the case......the Bible is a truthful history from Gen. to Rev., it contains the good, the bad and the ugly, the bible is filled with examples of what constitutes sin. In fact the Bible teaches that the reason the Old Law of Moses was only temporary was because people attempting to live under its precepts were constantly breaking their covenant with God.......thus a New Covenant would come during the 4th great empire/kingdoms of earth (which happened to be the Roman Empire of Jesus' generation) -- Daniel 7, Jer.31-31-34
