Suddenly, some Repubs are sounding a lot like Bernie.

No amount of printing ie trillions and trillions and trillions is going to solve the problem if local and state govts keep this lockdown going. The number of deaths due to the virus will pale in comparison to the death from the upcoming depression. People had better wake up.
Based on what data?

Great Depression Had Little Effect on Death Rates
Studies come and go

academics must do studies or face having to find a real job

if it suites their agenda libs can whip up a new study contradicting their old study in no time at all

So find one that says the Great Depression killed "hundreds of thousands". We'll wait.
If libs needed such a conclusion it would appear overnight

That's not the lamest dodge ever, but it's a condtenda...
No, its just an observation of how libs operate

Way to double down on your lame dodge. Going for having the lamest dodge ever? You should just ignore the question like LordBrownTrout did.

Face it, you can't come up with data that will support their claim since "hundreds of thousands" did not die as a result of the Great Depression. Same thing with the Great Recession. "Hundreds of thousands" did not die because of economic downturn. Know what else? The economy recovered. People who die as a result of this virus don't recover.
Libs are full of studies

they have them running out of every orifice, particularly their asshole

Yes, we do...but that's because we like things to be fact based. You, as a Trump sychophant, obviously, do not.

No, that's because you like to infiltrate and take over institutions and then flood them with your propaganda-spewers so that you can say, "There's a study! Look, one of our drones has said so in print!"
Wow, really? I "infiltrated an institution" AND "flooded it with propaganda" too?!?

There's actually a number of studies with hard data to support them showing that mortality did not increase during the great depression. Got ANYTHING to the contrary?

Wow, really, you can be the giant, meaningless piece of shit you always are and yet somehow tell yourself that everything is about you personally?

You = leftists, fucktard.

Wow, you really are just a bitter, angry individual with nothing but ad hominems and non sequiturs and always will be.

I'm going to assume that your little tantrum indicates that, no, you cannot provide evidence that an economic downturn will kill more people than this virus has already. Thanks!

Wow, you really are a brainwashed drone, desperate to plug your ears and chant slogans at yourself so that you don't ever have to face the truth. And always will be.

You can "assume" whatever your thought masters tell you to assume. It isn't like I've ever expected independent thought from you.

Feel free to finish running away, poltroon.

I find another Borg idiot post, imagine that.
One GOP member wants something and he tries to make it into many.
I have no doubt he probably has a few followers that agree with him. Compared to how many followers that agreed with Bernie?
He is talking about during an emergency versus normal times.
But hey it might make you feel better to be dishonest, fine.
I am disappointed, but not surprised, to see you fall back on mindless talking points based on a flawed analysis of some of Sander's proposals.
Nor did I expect you'd actually address the hypocrisy of Repub's new found love for deficit spending.........when a Repub sits in the Oval Office.

Republicans love deficit spending. reagan, bush the first, the bush boy and trump all have taken our deficit to new historic heights.

It's democrats Clinton and Obama who cleaned up their mess. Clinton totally eliminated the regan/bush deficit. Obama cut the bush boy's deficit in half.

trump has done what all republicans do, taken our deficit to new historic heights.

It's only when we have a democratic president that republicans have any problems with deficits. Which is funny since it's the deficits that republicans created that democrats are stuck with and either eliminate or slash in half.

Republican/conservative economics is the most irresponsible economic policy we have.

GOP senator's coronavirus plan: Get federal government to cover 80 percent of wages.
Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) wants the United States to follow Europe’s lead. That’s not something conservatives like him normally say, but he believes desperate times call for desperate measures.

The rising star on the right proposes that the federal government replicate what’s been working in the United Kingdom to keep layoffs limited and immediately begin covering 80 percent of worker wages at all private businesses, up to the national median wage, until the emergency caused by the novel coronavirus is over. He also advocates paying financial bonuses for businesses to rehire workers laid off over the past month.
....................................................................................................................................................
The magnitude of the impact to the economy from fighting the virus is truly unprecedented. The rationale for throwing the kitchen sink at preventing what would be a depression without government intervention is ultimately it is cheaper to prevent one than try to recover from one.
What I find telling is how quickly Repubs (who make claims to fiscal responsibility when a Dem is in the WH) propose what can fairly be described as socialist remedies under Repub admins. No amount of government debt is too much for a Repub when his party is at risk of being held accountable for a massive economic downturn.
When Shrub was prez, facing the start of a deep recession, Dems cooperated in passing TARP. When Obama took office and the Bush recession was in full swing, no Repub supported the stimulus package. Using the pretense it was too costly. How times have changed.
GOP cries "socialism save us!"

However ill-advised his suggestion is, it's still not socialism. If you're going to enthusiastically support and advocate for something, it might be a good idea to find out what it actually is first.
Kiddo, I'm using the RWNJ definition of socialism, in which all forms of government assistance except that which goes to billionaires and multi billion dollar corporations is decried as socialist.

"Kiddo", you're not using any official definition of socialism if you're not factoring in the word "temporary". Now, I realize that you're a leftist zealot and so, by definition, understanding English is beyond you, but unless and until someone suggests making this the standard operating procedure beyond this pandemic - you know, the way you leftist fucktards keep doing, because it's so damned wonderful to live in a crisis state permanently - this still ain't socialism.

Doesn't mean it's a good idea, and it's not, especially since we all know that dipshits like you, who are spending all their time gleefully attacking people for "turning to socialism" now are going to immediately leap to "We need to keep this FOREVER!" the instant the crisis has passed.

Congratulations on doing not one fucking thing during this pandemic other than being a third column inside the country. You should definitely be proud of how useless and destructive you're managing to be. Bravo!
Lol, somebody's triggered!

Stupidity and lies tend to have that effect on me.
Wow, stay away from tRump rallies then.

When I need advice from evil-spewing useful idiots about anything, I'll be sure to let you know.

Until then, just keep in mind that as "stupid" as you think Trump supporters are, you are and always have been so very, very much worse.
Why would you let me know? This website is about 60-65% tRump supporters, they can handle all your evil-spewing idiot needs.

We are not really talking about “nationalizing industry” here, so most traditional definitions of “socialism” don’t apply. That even traditional Republicans (and Trump) have agreed to step in and join Democrats to help the unemployed (only temporarily) is actually great, but this will probably prove woefully inadequate over time. The final result of this economic and health crisis will almost certainly be increasing poverty and MUCH HIGHER unemployment.

What is happening is massive “SOCIALIZING OF DEBTS” of highly leveraged and failing private Hedge Funds and financial institutions, mostly done behind the scenes by the Federal Reserve. Of course such “morally hazardous” bailouts are not new and WERE FULLY EXPECTED by the corrupt class of “crony capitalists” who run society and especially our financial system.

Few expected that a virus would bust the bubble, but everybody with any brain knew we were heading into another 2008-like crash. Talk about “the strong economy” always ignored this reality. Trump’s policies pushing for ZIRP and tax cuts to corporations and the wealthy were egregious, but merely symptomatic of systemic manipulation of the economy to swell “market values” at the expense of real productivity.

The U.S. now is engaged in a “New Monetary Theory” experiment in which it is no longer just Treasury-issued bonds sold on an open market that funds perpetual U.S. government debt, but where the creation of fiat money (and credit) allows for directly funding private corporations and (to a lesser extent) small business. After the health crisis passes, the expectation is that everything can go back to the way it was, but this is unlikely. Most of us will be poorer, but “crony capitalists” will probably be richer and more unrestrained than ever.

Until then, just keep in mind that as "stupid" as you think Trump supporters are, you are and always have been so very, very much worse.
Why would you let me know? This website is about 60-65% tRump supporters, they can handle all your evil-spewing idiot needs.

Aren't you just adorable, with your lame attempts to be clever? Thanks for proving me right.
Lol, goD himself couldn't prove you right.

As if you would recognize truth if it crawled up your pants leg and bit you on the left ass cheek.
You're correct, I'd probably mistake it for you, you creepy little dude you.

I like to keep truth out in the open where you can see it.

And I always suspected you wanted to get into my pants anyway.

Not even if you had a diamond zipper.
Your stated fantasy avoids the zipper, you kinky little devil.

Oh, good LORD.

Will you please go fucking live in Europe? Just get the fuck out and go live there. Nobody is forcing you to stay.
