I have dealt with people who resist arrest by saying they cannot be arrested until they’ve heard and understood their Miranda Rights and then scream, shout, put their hands over their ears or claim not to understand human speech in the belief that will prevent the arrest.

It doesn’t ever work out the way they think.

As somebody that has literally arrested hundreds of people, this is often exactly what happens. They live in this huge state of denial, and believe that nothing bad can ever happen to them because of their actions.

And it seems to have become some kind of huge mental illness. Where they think denying something will make it so.

But it can work out as they think, which is one of the reasons over 5 years ago I finally got out of California for the last time. That is actually a state that enables that kind of behavior, and think it is normal to have people behave in that way.
