True. Their experiences are anecdotal.
Of course. Two union members protecting their union?

Would it be ok if they were singing Jesus loves me?
I have a ******* master's degree in educational leadership where I learned to run schools. We studied school organizations all over the country. It qualifies me to run entire school districts. Yeah, so I am a ******* expert, especially compared to you know-nothings.But you talk like you are an expert. You are not. Your views are based on your experiences alone.
Who is a union member? I was not even a union member my last two years of teaching. I retired in 2018. I have no dog in this fight regarding unions. As an administrator, I was not allowed in the union.Of course. Two union members protecting their union?![]()

Wrong again, dumbass!
Simple. Money doesn't equal success.Okay Mr. Expert, why aren't American schools dominating the world considering the amount of money spent?
I wouldn't have a problem with it if the school wasn't organizing it.
Otherwise, you'd have a separation of church and state issue.
Yes, I was in a teachers union after I made tenure in Florida, and when teaching in an inner city school. My most longest union membership was 3 years in a rural school system where they did absolutely nothing for the teachers outside guaranteeing due process and if you didn't have tenure, you were shit out of luck as in most districts. Were you ever in a teacher's union?

The union kept me from being transferred illegally in my first district and prevented my principal for firing me arbitrarily in another.

How do schools in Florida who pay their teachers a pittance compare to schools in the northeast where the median teacher salary is nearly double that in Florida?
Look at this chart:

Teacher Pay by State 2026

You will note that states with higher salaries usually get the worst bang for their buck. CA, NY and MA have the highest average salary, and with the exception of MA, they have the lowest scores. Washington DC has the highest costs and higher salaries because of the cost of living. The have some of the worst test results because of the poor quality of students, just lie Baltimore.
To give Unkatore props, his schools in MA are stellar in high test scores for the most part.
Next question!
Part of the time. My unions did nothing in regards to curriculum, instruction, or anything about how, or what we taught, contrary to most people's uniformed opinions. So, you were in the teachers union. I figured as much.

They represented me when my administrators tried to violate my contract. Nothing more.
What part of "They represented me when my administrators tried to violate my contract. Nothing more" did you not ******* understand? You said they prevented you being fired.

My principal did not like me because I was a former administrator and I knew more than he did. He tried to fire me for insubordination because he claimed I refused to follow his instructions. You said they prevented you from being fired arbitrarily. What was the stated cause for the attempted firing, since you brought it up?
My principal did not like me because I was a former administrator and I knew more than he did. He tried to fire me for insubordination because he claimed I refused to follow his instructions.
Teachers were required to place seating charts in their folders for substitutes to use while taking attendance. I did as he requested. My assistant principal came to me one day and said that I had not done so and the principal wanted it done. I told her that I in fact had completed his request immediately after he told us. She relayed that information back to him. A week or more went by and she again asked me about it, and I assured her it was done as I had before. Another week or so goes by and I get a call from my principal saying that I was to meet with him and my union representative he had arranged for the next day. He never told me even what the meeting was about.
When I showed up for the meeting, the union rep was there and he introduced himself and my principal proceeds to question me about the sub folder controversy, saying that I had deliberately not complied with his instructions and was insubordinate in doing so. I maintained my composure and asked if I could retrieve the folder from the front office. I did and I had already verified the day before that my seating charts were just where I left them. I returned with the folder and showed my union rep the charts and then asked the principal if these were the charts he was referring to. You should have seen the look on that man's face when he realized I had him by the scrotum and was squeezing the life out of him.
The seating charts that I provided were the seating chart printouts produced by our student information management system for each class. The seat assignments are laid out just like in the classroom with the student's name and school picture if available. The pages were dated about a month or so before the meeting. It even had minor pen and ink changes. Neither the principal nor assistant principal knew what they were looking at because they had never seen it before. None of the administrators or teachers in that school even knew that tool was available in the student information management system. They were looking for some hand drawn seating chart like they used when they were in the classroom.
The reason I knew is that the system in that school district was almost identical to the one I installed in my Florida district about 5 years before that. I was my high school's technology coordinator (read "computer geek" and I was also doing my practicum for my master's degree the summer it was installed. That summer I worked 5 days a week, sometimes 10 hours a day getting that system installed for exactly zero pay. My principal knew I wanted an admin job when I graduated, and he would be the one to promote me. After graduating that winter, I was promoted when the first opening occurred and until I trained another administrator, I only taught half days because I was the only one familiar with the kinks in the system. I personally printed all the reports and reports cards for the entire year. As a result, I knew the system backwards and forwards and taught all the teachers, guidance counselors, and administrators how to use it. Seating charts were one of the features.
My principal was speechless at first and then said, "Well, I guess that covers it!" My union rep said not a word, but chuckled and we got up and left. I don't think my principal said a word to me the rest of the year. Then he did not renew my contract because I was eligible for tenure if he did. He got rid of me the only legal way he could. After I left, he was involved in a scandal in the school and was summarily fired by the school district for incompetence in handling it about two years later.
Need any other details?
You asked and I didn't want any more questions. besides, it's an interesting story about how someone stepped o their own dick while trying to be badass. You KNOW, I'm not reading all that.
A simple "my supervisor said I was insubordinate" was all that was necessary, but thanks.
Bottom line, you are a former union member defending fellow union members who bear some of the responsibility for the failure of the American education system.
What is the obsession with "union, union, union!"? Do you have an image in your malformed head of union reps standing in the classroom, directing the teacher on how and what to teach? You KNOW, I'm not reading all that.
