Students are being trained by union teachers to say ‘F--- ICE.’

What did they ever do to you?
Promoted standards that had NOTHING to do with kids succeeding, or learning....

Graduation rates abysmal
Reading rates abysmal
Math comprehension abysmal
etc. etc....

All the NEA ever succeeded in was in raising wages and benefits for themselves....

I belong to a carpenters union and we certainly back candidates that advance liberal policies.
So then perhaps the gop should speak out in favor of labor instead of calling them bad names.

Who was behind Common Core?
George W. Bush?
"No child left behind"?

It sucks.

AKA, "No child allowed to get ahead.:" Mediocrity for all.

Well discuss then.

Go visit your local HS.
Get a pass clearance though, you do need to be cleared....Background Check might be scary for you. Just sayin'.

Go, if cleared, and sit through the Calculus Class, it will be like a foreign subject to you. Go visit the CIVICS class.
What are you afraid of?

Of course we have many stupid students, doesn't stop the high achieving students from learning.

Civics? That's often not even OFFERED. Calculus? Most students don't take it (even if it is offered).

Common Core allows for the standard 24/3 =8 memorization process.
But do you want sheep, that only know ONE way to solve a problem, or more importantly, won't allow for any alternative thought processes.

How would you solve this?

Since 25 X 25 is 625, what is

a). 24 X 26 ?
b). 23 x 27 ?

Would you do the standard old school multiplication process, like a sheep, that was taught for years, in Public School, Private School, and definitely in Homeschools?

Or

Are there Higher Level thinking skills applied that you are two dumb to know?

^^^^ this.

When attempting to proclaim your intellectual superiority...you might want to proofread before posting.

So what is 96 X 104?

C'mon, you can do it.

Can Admiral Rockwell Tory tell me what 96 x 104 is?

Anyone can. It's second-grade math.

So when a student raises their hand and offers this solution (below) are you thinking this is an awesome example of thinking outside the box or are you thinking, just do it the traditional way.

Student Response.
Since 100 x 100 =10,000
Then 96 x 104 would be 16 less than 10,000.
I can subtract 16 from 10,000 faster than using traditional math.
The answer of 9,984 is 16 less because each number is 4 away from 100.
Since I know binomial expansion of conjugates, I can apply this rule.
Therefore 95 x 105 is 25 less than 10,000 or
95 x 105=9,975

Would you accept this ^^^^^ students answer?

It's correct, so sure. But the student STILL NEEDS TO LEARN HOW TO DO MULTIPLICATION.

Do 47 x 164

7708. Seriously, this is second-grade stuff.

Civics, as boring and mundane as it is, is still a required hs credit.

Good, because they're not.

From the link below:
And 71% of teachers say teachers themselves don’t have enough influence over what’s taught in public schools in their area.

In turn, a majority of teachers (58%) say their state government has too much influence over this. And more say the federal government, the local school board and parents have too much influence than say they don’t have enough.
