So I've been listening to Bob Uecker on the radio. Bob's a hilarious guy but on play-by-play he sounds like a satire of himself. Anyway he keeps using this term, possibly referring to a pitch, called a "bender". Anyone ever heard of this? He's used this two days in a row.

Hard to tell what's a joke and what's not with Bob.

Then his sidekick the other day used a strange expression that sounded like "on the schneid" (?) It's like another language up dere. Schneiden is the German verb meaning "to cut"...

:dunno:

"The Milwaukee Braves signed me for a bonus of $3000. That kind of irritated my old man, because... he didn't have that kind of money".

Bender: baseball that is thrown with spin so that its path curves as it approaches the batter
