If there is one man permanently etched in the history of Southern Africa for his grand imperialist designs, it must be Cecil John Rhodes. While his imperialist agenda laid a solid foundation for apartheid in South Africa to flourish, the viciousness of Rhodes as regards profits was seen in the colonization of Zimbabwe.
