Voter fraud is just another right-wing meme not based in reality. There is no rampant voter fraud in America.
The voter i.d. laws proposed by Republicans are meant to make it as difficult as possible for people to vote.
For instance, they'll pass a law requiring people to have a specific kind of voter i.d. but then they'll reduce the hours and close as many places as they can so that people are forced to wait for hours and hours, which they know old people can't do.
Instead of growing their base, Republicans are going with the strategy to try to prevent the other side from voting. That's why early voting has been dramatically reduced in Ohio now. They can't stand the thought of black people going to vote after church on Sunday, so they got rid of Sunday voting.
If a person's social security card and other similar forms of i.d. have been okay for decades now, I don't see why that's all of a sudden a reason for taxpayers to have to shell out millions or billions. Of course, Republicans say they want smaller government, but it would cost a lot to get people specific voter i.d. cards only for Republicans to then change the laws and say those cards are invalid.
Same with the stupid Republican state laws they try to pass forcing people to have drug tests. That costs a lot of money, which just proves yet again that "fiscal conservatism" is just a right-wing meme. It has no basis in reality.
