In NYC in general we had everyone else from latin america and the caribbean.It was only a matter of time before they showed up anyway..

i had a great uncle butch who lived in bushwhack in the fifties and ran for his life in the sixties... white flight was real baby.
When I bought my first property there he thought I was insane. I said, no, no, no. You gotta come to the neighborhood.

I had a French 10 speed i brought back with me

My first bike in 2000 was a Mercier, still got it, still ride it, they been making bikes for 100 years. I love the Campagnolo group set on it, a 27 speed bike with three chain rings on the crank, while great for climbing, it excels going downhill, you can really lean in to the descents and feels so comfortable. Not particularly fast bike though and quite heavy by today’s standards
