NASA - NASA Unveils $17.6 Billion Budget

NASA's 2009 budget is set to be $17.6 billion.

John McCain has declared in several debates that, if elected, he would enact a spending freeze, which basically means that every single program under the federal government's budget would not increase in funding during his first year in office.

Well, good ol' John McCain went on the stump today and promised NASA an additional $2 billion if he was elected.

Oops.

I am not sure either candidate's spending promises and cuts add up.

But funding NASA is a good thing, and John's been right on science. He believes in evolution, he is for stem cell research, and he obviously realizes that we must not lose our edge in space technology and explioration. It is one of the few things the world still admires us for.
