Someone just blew up Ukraine’s Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant and took out a major dam

Very doubtful. Only if other countries are involved and the situation is dire. Which I don't expect.

I know that's nuance, and you guys don't like nuance. But my world is not simplistic black & white.
“Very doubtful”. How noncommittal of you. That way you can support it when the narrative tells you so. I guess that is “nuance”, it will depend on the situation. News media will cry how “dire” the situation is, and of course other countries will be committed in “support roles” which will be good enough for you.

I got news for you though, other countries are already involved in this conflict, and the situation is already “dire”.

At least you admit you support sending troops in to die for Zelensky’s war. Most others on here are too afraid to admit that.

Yes, that is the interpretation that I expected from someone like you.

Mac1958 will ALWAYS support the DemoKKKrats' wars.

And I expected a very noncommittal answer from you.

You can’t just say you would support sending US Troops the Biden Regime decides to. But at the same time you have to leave the possibility open because you know if it does happen, you will support it. Otherwise you’d find yourself in agreement with “Trump supporters” and ”Putin apologists”.

I'm sorry, but life is more complicated than it is in your world.

Ukraine will not win.
They are dying a slow, inevitable death.

JohnDB, you gave this a thumbs down. So what? You think Ukraine strategically destroyed its own dam, caused massive life-threatening and logistical/military problematic flooding, as some type of counter-offensive, plan to try to defeat the Russians, or in any way win this war?

How's that 'counter offensive' going?

China has sided with Russia, forming an alliance with them. You think Ukraine can fend off forever / defeat Russia (eith China's support) with the help of NATO / the US fighting a limited proxy war?

The 102 mechanized (or mobilized) Russian troops did the damage to this damage to take down two separate power grids of both the large nuclear reactor and Kherson's power....as well as for the flooding to slow down the Ukrainian troops.

However, this is a war crime because of the targeted loss of civilians and ecological damage this will cause.

This wasn't caused by a PMC that usually is not really held responsible but actually Russian troops that committed this crime. There will be repercussions for this.

This also will ultimately cause Crimea to lose its freshwater supplies. Meaning that they ultimately did to themselves what the Ukranians did after Russia sole Crimea.

The Russians are in a no-win scenario. Even though Ukranians seem bound with few options they have learned a LOT about asymmetrical warfare that Russia has never learned how to deal with effectively.

What few friends Russia once had are slowly backing out of their relationship...and if Russia creates a nuclear disaster with the power plant....it will lose all. Not even Iran will stand by their side with this one.

So....where the Kremlin now stands I've heard that Joe's Crab Shack has put in a bid for the land.

I'm sorry, but life is more complicated than it is in your world.

Yeah, more complicated than it has to be thanks to Hillary Hoaxes, constznt failed coup attempts and 'Get Trump' criminal schemes, liberal MSM & govt censoring / silencing the truth and facts, spreading lies and propaganda while protecting the Biden from at leadt a half dozen criminl scandals, targeting Conservatives and anyone who doesn't support the Socialist Authoritarian Democrat agenda, labeling Conservatives, parents, and Catholics 'domestic terrorists'....

Life would have been so much better if 'Thanos' had snapped his finger in the movie and the half of the world's population that disappeared would have been the Constitution / Law-violating, corrupt, criminal, compromised, treasonous, Socislist Authoritarian, power / control / money-hungry Democrats, fake news liberal MSM, snowflakes, trolls, and bots.

That would be a movie I would pay money to see.

China has NOT sided with Russia. It has condemned the invasion of Ukraine in the UN vote.

And the back door support they are giving is to ensure Russia's demise....they are anything but Russia's friend or ally. They want pieces of Russia to become under their governmental control....they want Russian assets.

China has been playing the "long game" between the USA and Russia for a long time now. They actively encourage hostilities between our nations so that we two will be too weak to oppose their domination of both of us.

LOL 24 hours ago CNN was boasting how Ukraine was mounting a huge counter-offensive, even into Kherson region.

Now they blame Russia for the dam being blown up. :laughing0301:

China wantsthis war to go on as long as possible abd is hrlping Russia to do that.

As long as it goes on Democrats continue to pour billions into Ukraine, continue to srnd weapons / munitions to Ukraine as our own stockpiles diminish, leaving us less and less prepared to drfend Taiwan.

While Bidenand Democrats ate focusing only in Ukraine the CCP is escalating cyber attacks against Guam, a key player in defending that region abd tge defense of Taiwan.

They are becoming more and more antagonistically aggressive militarily - one of their fighters missing one of ours by only 10 feet and neatly colliding one of their ships with ours.

The war with the US has already started for China, and tbey have killed thousands of Americans with the Fentynal they keep flooding into tbe US through vopromised Koe's Open Borders - this is on top of the number of Americans killed by their COVID 'LAB LEAK'.

'The enemy of the enemy is my friend' ... as long as they are useful.

China knows even with owning Biden and a ton of politicuabste US is stil the big threat, not Russia. For all the talk of Russia's military might they have een exposed by Ukraine and teir supportog proxy war forces.

Russia is providing / serving a CCP purpose right now, helping to weaken the US.

Democrats, snowflakes, bots, and trolls don'tsee it - or don't want to see it. Our own National Itel and military keep sounding the alarm that China is our #1 threat.

Keep sleep-walking, defending Biden and China if you want.

First off....I'm A-Political and as far as your accusations that I side with any political party is insulting to me.

Obviously you are a political creature and don't know any better...so I'll forgive your sheer stupidity in thinking politics is an answer to world problems.

Your first piece of evidence is the article in the New Yorker magazine. In case you are really believing what you say and not just another stupid homosexual Russian Bot....it's from February....of last year! The vote I'm speaking of was this year. Obviously something has changed that you really don't want to either know or recognize.
So....if you want to have an honest discussion....try again. But this time when engaging in a battle of wits please come armed. It's no fun when you don't.

This is pretty serious. I'm hearing that water was being used to cool a nuclear site.

Ukraine accuses Russia of blowing up dam to put a massive natural obstacle in the way of its counteroffensive

Ukraine accused Russia of blowing up a major dam that was destroyed on Tuesday, sending flood water barreling towards the homes of thousands of people.

Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said on Twitter that Russia blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant and the Nova Kakhovka dam "to create insurmountable obstacles" for the Ukrainian military.

He said Russia's purpose was "obvious" and called the dam's destruction a "premeditated crime." Russia has denied being responsible, although it controls the dam and its surroundings.

Podolyak said Russia was trying "to slow down the fair final of the war," as Ukraine's forces gear up to launch a counteroffensive and take back land from Russia after months on the defensive.

The road over the dam could have allowed Ukrainian forces to cross over the Dnipro river and into Russia-controlled territory in eastern Ukraine, the BBC reported.

Podolyak's comment suggests he thinks Russia would struggle to keep Ukraine back without taking such action.

There are some signs that Ukraine's efforts have already begun, though Ukraine has said that it would not share plans for its counterattack in advance.

When Saddam was pushed out of Kuwait, he lit several oil rigs on fire, creating a huge mess out of pure spite and humiliation.
I wonder if this is Putin's version of that. Maybe he knows it's close to being over for him.
Putin's? Are you all on drugs?

If that's the case why aren't they living in the west inside of fighting in ukraine risking death?
The german nazis sat to the end in Berlin, believing in a "miraculous weapon of retaliation." When push comes to shove, the ukrainian nazi rats will run. Not everyone will succeed, but they have a more secure situation - the ukrainian nazis are mercenaries of the West, so they have somewhere to run and do not need to hide like the german nazis. Although many of those nazis have taken high positions in Western power structures, including NATO, without hiding.
