Took control of the banks and was the only President to pay off the National Debt.
Survived an assassination attempt, after he left office the country fell into recession, the bankers said it was because he didn't allow the bankers to control the money.

Herbert Hoover, not so much a rebel, was sending food to other nations and declared the end of poverty in the USA. His presidency was hit by the Great Depression 16 years after the Federal Reserve Act was past, promising to end recessions.
Huey Long , disillusioned with the Democrat party decided to run against Roosevelt, promising an effective alternative to FDR's New Deal.
Assassinated before he became President
John Kennedy as President and when he named his brother Robert as US Attorney General (against the wishes of the Democrats) this was a political coup by the Kennedys. Both were despised by establishment politicians, both assassinated.
Richard Nixon, became the President with full backing of the establishment Republicans, despised the media and the left. At one point he called a press conference, took a dip in the pool and left. Accused of the Watergate scandal and the audio tapes he made for promising honesty in the highest office, were used against him.
Jimmy Carter, unlikely Democrat candidate won the Presidency, insisted on doing everything his way, refused to listen to advisors.
