Before SS, few people retired. They worked till they died or relied on their children for support.

it is going broke, we have to make changes to save it for the next generation. Since the dems under LBJ did away with the SS trust fund and spent the money of their pet projects the system is going broke. Changes must be made, the easiest would be to collect the SS tax on all earnings with no cap. Why should most people pay it on their entire income and the very rich on only a small portion of it?

That payment would not be made for a short period of time. It would have to be paid every year for the next 30 years or more

those people can easily be taken care of with the existing system, especially since the dems merged the ss fund with the general fund. let newly employed kids set up their own plans or some plan through their employer that could be transferred to a second or third employer. It would work and upon retirement those people would have more than the current SS system would give them.
