Socialized Medicine and Ungodly Expensive Drugs

Systems like theirs, where healthcare is largely funded by government and statutory insurance funds, tend to promote cost savings over innovation without the financial benefits of free-market systems. "

There are no such systems so one can not argue they are the best. These systems do not exist.

If all you can do is semantically knit pick the argument, you've lost btw.

That's fine. Who's generating all the medical innovation? Socialized medicine or what we have?

Federally subsidized medicine. If you want to withhold results from the taxpayers, quit expecting them to fund you.

This is NOT a nit pick. It's a very important point. Forbes is trying to give a system that doesn't even exist credit for all of this.

Let me ask you this.......if we had free markets, would we be able to freely access lesser expensive drugs from Canada?

That we can't is just another way we subsidize big pharmaceutical companies

In addition to the best and brightest practicing medicine and state-of-art medical facilities…...
Doctors from all over the world want to practice in the United States, as they can make obscene amounts of money practicing medicine here. That doesn't guarantee the patient a better outcome. Innovation in medicine is subsidized by obscene costs and profit margins. This innovation comes with a cost, and that cost is one borne by average Americans who are fleeced for any coverage they may need, while many have no coverage.

What about that innovation not happening without the financial incentive is so hard for you to grasp?

So it's called "financial incentive"? What makes you think the costs incurred are not wildly inflated, just like the cost of healthcare in America? You're doing a good job of carrying water for these insurance companies. :itsok:
