Socialism- let's really pilot the idea on a small scale

Socialism is defined as Government taking over business and the means of production.

One of America's biggest advocates of socialism is the Starbucks Corporation.

Why not, just as an experiment, have the government take over SBUX, and run the stores. Government employees could serve as baristas, represented by government employee unions.

IMHO, it would be an economic catastrophe, even on this small scale. The Government Dept. of Starbucks would hemorrhage money, customers would not like being required to fill out forms and be required to wait 6-8 weeks for their mochas. Prices would soar, yet profits would evaporate.

But that's the essential nature of socialism.

Or, how about we do it with the Army instead, see if that works. See if having government control of the Army leads to something good.

Nah, it'd never happen.

Wow... you really don't get the difference between an army and a business?

Socialism is inferior to capitalism because people are not given an incentive to excel. If a grocery store clerk makes as much as a doctor but both get free healthcare and pensions and subsidized housing, why would people choose to be doctors? Greater good?
lol. we have a mixed market economy not True capitalism.

I was not talking about us.

Owning or REGULATING business and industry, dumbass. Since World War II it has come to mean fair capitalism with a good safety net. "We are all socialists now"--Finland prime minister when ObamaCare passed...

USPS still has the best rates

True story. Last week my daughter needed a new phone charger. Ordered one off Ebay and next day it was shipped USPS. She tracked it...started in California, went to Des Moines, then our home city. The next day it was back in Des Moines and then to Louisville and yesterday she got it. 10 days....give me Fed Ex or UPS

the rates were for five day service.

we really just need a fifteen dollar an hour minimum wage, unemployment compensation for being unemployed on an at-will basis in our at-will employment States, and Industrial Automation to help with social costs.
The fuck? You don’t deserve welfare because you aren’t willing to work. What the hell is wrong with you?

Now all you have to do is explain that’s how governments work and you got to pay taxes to keep that charger changing hands for five days.

She's already a budding conservative, hates social media, pro life, strong Christian values and family values. She debates on the school's team, they always take the conservative side of the topics presented

You don't quite understand the terms you are attempting to use.

You simply don't understand the concept. Employment is at-will; and employers can't hire everyone.

Communism is defined as Government taking over business and the means of production. Socialism is defined as the Fovernment providing benefits in the form of healthcare, education and retirement to the citizens.

If you're going to discuss socialism, understand that at the very least.
