I guess the Buffalo Soldiers were DEI. Just like Jackie Robinson. So when will Trump move to erase them?

Who are the Buffalo Soldiers?

African Americans have served proudly in every great American war. These fighting men represented the first Black professional soldiers in a peacetime army. The recruits came from varied backgrounds including former slaves and veterans from service in the Civil War.

In 1866, through an act of Congress, legislation was adopted to create six all African American Army units. The units were identified as the 9th and 10th cavalry and the 38th, 39th, 40th, and 41st infantry regiments. In 1869, the four infantry regiments were reorganized to form the 24th and 25th infantry regiments.

How did the Buffalo Soldiers get their name?

Throughout the era of the Indian Wars, approximately twenty percent of the U.S. Cavalry troopers were Black, and they fought over 177 engagements. The combat prowess, bravery, tenaciousness, and looks on the battlefield, inspired the Indians to call them Buffalo Soldiers. The name symbolized the Native American’s respect for the Buffalo Soldiers’ bravery and valor. Buffalo Soldiers, down through the years, have worn the name with pride.

These men fought for America even though they endured Jim Crow. These men are the true definition of love of country or PATRIOTISM. Blacks have been the most patriotic Americans in this country even as we have been given the least by this country..

agreed with most of it up to the last paragraph.

part of the reason they were referred to as buffalo soldiers, is because their hair resembled the ruff on buffalos.

the last paragraph is solely ethnic pride.

blacks, as a whole, are no more patriotic than any other race.

but dream your dream.

When somebody get's around to bringing them to his attention I would assume.

Let's all agree not to tell him about any more historical stuff he might take offense to.

I served with a man in Viet Nam, his great grand father charged up Kettle (San Juan) Hill with Teddy Roosevelt. He was a career man who died after WWI. His grand father served as a truck driver for Meat Ball Express in WWII. His Dad died in Korea.
The African-American Men and Women in uniform suffered horrible hate and discrimination. 47 is an asshole if he thinks can just wipe away the memory of those brave Men and Women.

Hopefully, this doesn't happen. But you can see the trend.

And you are an idiot if you think thats what trump wants to do

He won't "wipe it out" and isn't trying to.
He's tried to erase other similar things, so what's going to stop him and Hegseth from doing this?

What do you mean by "we"?

You grew up surrounded by privilege, and were offered the same opportunities everyone else had. And now you're trying to gain some stolen honor off the backs of people who unlike yourself, actually served their country?

Go **** yourself, petty little man.

🙄

No worries,!then, you jerkoff. That’s not at all what he is even attempting to do.

Damn, you’re useless.

Thanks for keeping history alive. We've already had the contributions of Tuskegee Frogmen wiped clean, and the heroic exploits of NAASA are gone too.

Bullshit! Also it's ironic the same people who were tearing down statues recently now ***** about "erasing history"
Tearing down statues of the Confederacy is not erasing American history.

Taking down statues of Confederate Traitors needed to be done. Honoring Men who betrayed their country is just plain wrong. Contributions to our history by the Tuskegee Airmen and Buffalo Soldiers is important, removing from our history will NOT change that. But you do not see that. Lee, Pickett and Jackson (just to name a few) betrayed their oath as officers to defend this country. They been tried for treason and executed.
