SNAP bans on soda, candy and other foods take effect in five states Jan. 1- Thanks RFK!

One big problem with eating healthy is the time it takes to make, but another problem is those who don't grow up with healthy food, won't but used to it, and changing to eating healthy can be quite difficult.
They can buy a crockpot at a thrift store for 5 dollars and throw it together and make stew. Less than 15 min prep. Crockpot does all the work

Again, just common sense. Have you ever heard the expression don’t look at gift horse in the mouth? The left in the US not only does that, they complain that the horse should be a car instead.
Have you seen them ***** about Angel Tree gifts not being expensive enough for their 9 kids? Democrats have created entitled greedy monsters with government handouts.

Issue a cook book and a book on nutrition. Learning can be a benefit as well or is that too much to ask of people asking for charity?

Starving to death is bit harder to overcome than getting used to eating healthy, and I am sure they'll figure it out sooner or later.

They should only be allowed the same items WIC provides IMO. Maybe also meat.

Yep. A bag of oats, beans, rice, carrots, tomatoes, onions, potatoes, banana’s are all healthy and some of the cheapest items in the grocery store. Add meat that is on sale for the week. Makes several meals. Lefties just like to make excuses.
and since they are more nutritious you dont need to eat 30 mins later like with processed foods,,

Yes, they can. However if we look at what people do, those who didn't grow up with healthy food, those who didn't grow up cooking, won't, in general.

That's the point.

We're not talking what people could do. We're talking what people DO.

If they're not smart enough to feed themselves, it isn't my problem. Survival of the fittest doesn't include having someone spoon-feed them.

The Trayvon Martins in the hood are angry...no more free ice tea and Skittles.

They arent working they have lots of time on their hands to learn.

And why are you sure of this?

Poor people are more likely to eat unhealthily, get fat and then die.

Do poor people learn much? Is that why they're poor because they're learning so much?

Seriously? Do you know nothing about poor people?
I grew up with a single mother. She learned to cook for us even working full time at a car dealership.

Okay, and?

One example does not make a statistic.

Statistics say that lots of people fail to do this. What are the reasons? Why does this happen?

You don't change things with individual anecdotes.

An ex- of mine's mother went around poor neighborhoods trying to teach poor people how to eat well, it was a futile exercise for the most part.

Why?

My anecdote is my educated boss who grew up with sugary foods and still pumps them into his body and his child's body, because he can't change.
