The House on Wednesday passed a bill that would direct President Biden to prepare a report on the government’s efforts to collect and examine evidence related to war crimes and other atrocities committed during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.....

GOP Reps. Andy Biggs (Ariz.), Warren Davidson (Ohio), Paul Gosar (Ariz.), Marjorie Taylor Greene (Ga.), Thomas Massie (Ky.) and Scott Perry (Pa.) all opposed the bill.

This is the heart of the new GOP folks. Covering up war crimes for Putin and Russian troops. Yeah, we know where their loyalties lay.

No one is "covering up" anything. Its just that some Republicans understand that the POTUS has other priorities like resolving the war, curing inflation, reducing gasoline prices, the fiscal problems and deficit in Washington, the crime problem, etc.

Having Brandon distracted on something less pressing, something that others are in a better position to investigate, isn't good strategy.

If Biden gets everything else on his plate taken care of, sure.

But loading more on his plate isn't helpful.

You haven’t thought this through. If Putin is found guilty of war crimes, than what about W and O who committed far worse?

This is why the US government has failed to recognize the authority of International Criminal Court.

No nation has committed greater crimes against humanity these last 30 years than the good old USA.

Bullshit. Do we really need to spend money we don't have and tie up Congress on another "investigation"? Everyone knows Russia has committed war crimes in Ukraine but who the hell are we? The world's Daddy?

This is just more kumbaya virtue-signalling by the left. So we spend the time and money making a list of war criminals, then what? Invade Russia? So we put out arrest warrants for Russians, then what? Extradite them?

Let Europe handle their own problems. We have enough problems here with a senile idiot in control of the country, with the Democrats destroying it, with inflation, high prices, rampant crime, homelessness, drugs, 3 million new illegals in this country over the last year...

Congress should be doing the fucking job we're paying them to do here in the US, not trying to police the rest of the world and fix their fucking problems, instead of ours.

.

It's just more bullshit grandstanding by the do-nothing assclowns on Capitol Hill.
Congress doesn't have the authority to prosecute anyone that isn't a member of Congress.

why spend 30 million bucks on something that is axiomatic

I'd prefer we spend the money on investigating the murder of Seth Rich. At least with those perps, they are in America's jurisdiction and we can do something about it.

The United States is in no position to investigate war crimes nor the governing body. The ICC located at the Hague is the only legal institution with such authority. Again Congress demonstrates incompetence. The Dimbo’s again promote addressing affairs of state in the veiled attempt to distract attention away from their incompetence. Their infatuation with Russia by peddling false narratives concerning the GOP counter dictates the facts.

And after you investigate what then? It is safe to say there have been war crimes committed are we going to send a covert team into Russia to try and get Putin or we going to lead an invasion to get him? I seriously doubt Putin will surrender himself for prosecution and sentencing.

There is no way to "investigate" anyhow.

Are Brandon's detectives going to be allowed to go to Ukraine and Russia and probe around, interviewing people and collecting evidence?

This whole bill is just another example of Liberal Virtue Signaling, which I guess is a lot easier to do than actual work.

The Putin Republicans are showing their true allegiance.

Even China is insisting that the atrocities in Ukraine be investigated.

Why is that our problem and why should we pay for it?

Let the butt-fucking EU spend the time and money. NOT OUR PROBLEM.

This is nothing more than political theater for the rubes. Not surprising you eat it up.
