Should Washington DC have representation in the Senate?

If the district was populated by a majority of conservatives every RWnut on this forum would say yes.

No we wouldn't.
It needs to be balanced by all three major ideologies, like it has always been, before the last 20 years or so of both parties having right and left only view points.
Special interests have taken over both parties.
That's wrong and needs to be fixed.
If not, voters will start voting for people who will.

No it is not a State and has no reason to expect representation in the senate.
It is not a state but it is not a territory

The people who live there should not be disenfranchised. DC has a bigger population than Wyoming

Of course, all Americans should have representation.

Indeed. The Virginia part of DC was returned, is now Arlington County, and votes with Virginia.

No reason the same can't be done with the remainder. But there is no logical or legal machination for DC statehood save amending the Constitution.

Congress not only reviews and can modify DC's local budget, but it can also annul any law it does not agree with. Therefore, DC does not have true local self-government.

In addition, the President appoints DC's local judges and is in charge of DC's court and prison system
Hell no.

Probably the district should just be returned to the states it came from, with the federal government's facilities simply located on federal property within those states.
