Florida has a law that you can't carry a gun into an establishment that serves booze.

Many towns back then would require guns be left at the local jail or given to bar tender till they leave.

Guns and alcohol don't mix well. Many cities have made bars and restaurants gun free.

If people were not being checked before going into the place, then yes, the place should be sued over what happened.
