I’ll let you in on a little secret. Scientists are people too. They like nice homes, nice cars and nice vacations. You seem to believe they are on a moral high ground. They aren’t. They will lie with the best of them if it means more funding or pushing an agenda that will lead to more funding. Also, scientists must trust other scientists and their data and findings to some extent. They can’t reinvent the wheel over and over again.

My wife always blindly trusted the science/medicine, until she didn’t. She is still forced to trust it to a large extent as she is not in research, but she takes it all with a healthy dose of skepticism if something seems a little off. She is not alone, particularly post COVID. Some things are not politicized, but many things are. Any science that is politicized should be taken with a grain of salt.
