Take the banks. After 2008, the banks put in a lot more checks to make sure nothing like 2008 ever happened again. Some of that was due to regulation, but some of it was due to not wanting to lose a shitload of money.

So once gun victims can sue the gun companies, one of two things will happen.

1) They'll tighten their own background checks to keep guns out of the hands of people who shouldn't have them.
or
2) They'll go out of business.
