As you say, Obama really was the first to walk back from the commitment to Security in exchange for giving up the 3rd largest nuclear weapons stockpile in the world.
Trump usually likes to reverse mistakes of previous Democrat admins. He should have reversed that one and unquestionably stood behind backing Ukraine's independence from the Russian, attempt to reclaim control of that country.
