Translation: We're getting tired of cleaning and even more tired of the complaints.

Just wait, they'll phase out their ice cream machines next.

Actually, they're getting tired of mooches getting free refills.
AFAIK their are NO ice cream machines accessible to the customer.

Yeah I know, but that wasn't the point that I was making. I thought that there were always free refills at fastfood restaurants though. 🤨
20 years ago..maybe---but times have changed.
The fountain drinks were customer accessible to save on the employee's having to waste time pouring and interacting.

McDonald's, and all fast food chains, are transitioning to maximum automation and as few employees as possible, largely in response to ridiculous minimum wage laws in blue states (which ALWAYS have the effect of workers losing their jobs).

Yeah somebody else just told me. I've been getting my cup refilled for years because nobody ever said anything.

I’m more concerned with what passes for meat.

Do I even want to know?

Yes, at most of them.

Apparently not though from what I just heard. I've been alive for 36 years and nobody ever told me that I had to pay to refill my drink. It makes sense now that I've heard it, but this is literally the first time I've heard about it.

Just curious. I don’t think I’ve eaten at one this century.

I don't like McDonalds. Them phasing out the drink machines is probably a cost cutting measure, as well as them wanting to cut down on the number of employees they need - as well as cutting down theft.
