Should slavery be legalized again?

I ask this question knowing that everyone reading it would automatically shout, "NO!!"

However, consider this, there is more slavery today in the world than at any time in human history despite it being illegal.

We have many people today that want to decriminalize a whole host of other societal ills like taking illicit drugs or legalizing prostitution in the hopes of better government regulation or perhaps to quell their numbers. How then would slavery be any different regarding these arguments?

Why not just regulate it?

Slavery never went away in the US. Democrats do everything they can to keep blacks on the plantation. Anyone escaping is instantly demonized because they don't want other blacks on the plantation thinking it's better on the outside. They've even got Barack Obama trying to keep the brothers on the plantation.
