Should schools teach an alternate view of the Holocaust in the interests of balance ?

You do understand that the law is being misinterpreted, right? The author of the bill that became the law has said as much. The same was stated by the supervisor of the moronic school district employee who suggested such a thing in that meeting.

No one with a rational mind, firm grasp of history and facts believes there is an alternate view to the Holocaust.

Referring to the recent law passed in Texas.

Is the alternate view credible enough to demand teaching our kids ?

I would say that it isnt. Some folk on here seem a bit ambivalent about it.
Yeah, but whose truths? I always thought that Facts were supposed to be taught, not someone elses opinion, like a queer Muzzie lover who takes it up the ass....

The misinterpretation to which he refers is that only institutional Texan/American racism is supposed to be regarded as fictional.

Actually it seems rather to focus on barring alternate views...

Its a partisan bill that is not concerned with education and seems to put the poor teachers on the front line of whatever culture war they are stewing over.
The founding date of the US is a matter for debate but in that there is no harm in outlining the different views.
The Holocaust happened. There is evidence for it and no respectable historian argues that it didnt.
I will give you another one. Pretending that the civil war was not about slavery is right wing sophistry.. It may not be 100% cut and dried but it is dishonest to pretend otherwise.

Factions like to control history because it helps them to shape the present. The right would like to airbrush black folk from US history because it doesnt help them shape their vision of what they want the US to be.

Dude, before July 4th 1776, the colonies of the America's was British rule which had allowed black men to become slaves. Since then, the United States worked to make slavery illegal, though it took 4 score and 7 years later. Thanks for playing...Racist prick..

The liberals will demand the Jews repay Germany for the gas and room and board.

What a pity the US didn't have self determination. I suppose that's another fantasy which must not be taught.

It can teach, why not? At least, it can be done to refute the alternative version afterwards.

Black folk would have been better off if the brits had won.

Yeah, sure they would, just like the Americans, the East Indians, and any other colonial country ruled by the King/Queen.

socialistalternative.org ! What a hoot.
Talking about man's inhumanity to man, just look what the Socialist did over the last 100 years. Killed 1000x more than the Roman games ever did.

Wishing to break the treaties with the tribes in order to expand westward was a large part of colonists declaring independence from Britain. I suppose you weren't taught that.
No, that was Andrew Jackson's Manifest Destiny, that declared war on Indians. Something about Democrats and their racist attitudes towards people of color.

Why Was the Jacksonian Democracy Considered Undemocratic? | Synonym
Around 90 percent of all African Americans toiled as slaves in the Southern states. They held no rights as citizens, despite performing much of the labor that sustained the national economy. Rather than pushing the nation toward freeing the slaves, the Democratic Party supported the right for states and territories to choose whether to allow slavery, as well as the expansion of slavery into Western lands.
The Native Americans had secured a victory in the Supreme Court that seemingly guaranteed them certain lands. In the 1832 Worcester v. Georgia case, the court declared the Native Americans living in Georgia a separate nation entitled to its land inside the state. President Jackson refused to honor this decision, instead enforcing the 1830 Indian Removal Act. In 1838, the Cherokee remaining in Georgia were put on a forced march to Oklahoma on the infamous Trail of Tears. This removal led to the death of 4,000 of the 17,000 Cherokee who took the march.
Even today, the Democrat party has new KKK(BLM/ANTIFA) Burning, Looting and Murdering minorities that dont tow the party lines. Nothing has changed with Democrats..

What would the “ alternate view” be?
